The 2019 edition of the Diners’ Guide offers the functionality to register an account, check in at restaurants, and earn incentives for consumer loyalty.

The guide assesses restaurants based on specific criteria:

1. tipped worker compensation
2. non-tipped worker compensation
3. provision of paid time off
4. commitment to internal promotion or racial equality
5. adoption of the RAISE anti-sexual harassment policy and training
6. affiliation with Restaurants Advancing Industry Standards in Employment (RAISE)

Points were distributed according to these categories. Gold-rated establishments with tipped workers can earn four out of six points, while those without tipped workers can earn three out of five points. Silver-rated restaurants with tipped workers may receive three out of six points, and silver-rated restaurants without tipped workers are eligible for three out of five points.
