The Diners’ Guide presents a selection of food establishments committed to ethical practices for sustainable profitability, such as ensuring fair wages, paid time off, racial equality, a harassment-free environment, and pathways for professional growth. The 2019 edition of the Diners’ Guide offers the functionality to register an account, check in at restaurants, and earn incentives for consumer loyalty.

We recognize our dedicated patrons as Diners United ROC Stars, appreciating your support for those adhering to ethical standards in the industry. Join a devoted community of consumers endorsing restaurants that uphold ethical standards for sustainable profitability.

The guide assesses restaurants based on specific criteria:
<ol>
 <li>tipped worker compensation</li>
 <li>non-tipped worker compensation</li>
 <li>provision of paid time off</li>
 <li>commitment to internal promotion or racial equality</li>
 <li>adoption of the RAISE anti-sexual harassment policy and training</li>
 <li>affiliation with Restaurants Advancing Industry Standards in Employment (RAISE)</li>
</ol>

Points were distributed according to these categories. Gold-rated establishments with tipped workers can earn four out of six points, while those without tipped workers can earn three out of five points. Silver-rated restaurants with tipped workers may receive three out of six points, and silver-rated restaurants without tipped workers are eligible for three out of five points.

You have the power to make an impact on over 14 million restaurant employees nationwide through various straightforward actions. Supporting ethical restaurants is crucial and encouraging your favorite dining spots, not featured in this guide yet, to join RAISE is equally important. By joining RAISE, these establishments can either learn how to adopt ethical practices or be recognized for existing efforts. Remember to check in when you visit ethical restaurants and enroll in the Diners United ROC Star Loyalty Rewards Program!
